I love this board too. I'll admit that I have periods of time that I don't get to read it much or make comments but I am so glad that it is here when I need it.

I really appreciate all the "gentlemen and scholars" on the board. I'm not a gentleman and I don't really know if I could be called a scholar. I guess I working toward being a scholar. You all are helping to that end.

    Thanks

uh, no, I mean "Sorry, girls;" uh, no, I mean "Sorry, ladies." (Gosh, this politically correct stuff is hard for us old-timers). See, this guy Burns was a poet, didn't know it (would ever come to this), and lived way back in 1786 BPC (good thing, too -- nowadays they'd send him straight to remedial English).

Here's his quote (deleted when I changed my "signature"):
"His locked, letter'd, braw brass collar
Shew'd him the gentleman and scholar,,," -- The Twa (two) Dogs -- Robert Burns

Since the "gentleman" Burnsey's describing is a dog instead of a person, maybe y'all won't take it too hard about being left out.

P.S. I hate being predictable, so just 'cause I'm an old-time conservative-type doesn't mean I automatically deplore feminism, etc. and I do sympathize (remember the reverse discrimination scene in the Michael Douglas movie "Disclosure" where the secretary slapped him on the fanny -- that was very funny).

I mostly meant that I would like to be considered a scholar. If I keep working at it, someday I might qualify....some of you people are a hard act to follow.

I guess I would be a "scholar" also. Love new titles.
