What is nice about this World it that the people that we admire strongly we get to finally meet in the next world, God's World. See you then Stevie "Birdlegs" Wells.

      Bird Legs was very special

I am saddened as all of us are about Stevie's passing. He guided many of us with his postings which will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers to his family in their time of loss.

        The Birdman of Austin

A tragic loss indeed. This gracious and good-hearted man was truly the "best of the board."

To you, Bird; from your TMI friends: An affectionate and final

        tweet...

Green be the the turf above thee,
        Friend of my better days;
None knew thee but to love thee
Nor named thee but to praise.

          Energy and excitement

Birdlegs added energy and excitement to the board....and his energy will ripple on and still be with us...as this board moves into it's "post-Birdlegs" era.

On many an occasion I had the distinct privilege of having Birdlegs answer my questions as simple as they may have been he never once gave me any attitude about it or made me feel stupid, for that I thank him. He was a true Man among men and a special person here on the board. Rest in Peace birdlegs.

I am so sorry to read this, although by the prior posts I knew he was not long for this world. I couldn't believe that, after he went 'missing' for awhile, and told us he was undergoing chemo, etc, that one of his biggest concerns was trying to get his clients taken care of, after being so sick. I remember post after post telling him to take care of himself and let the clients wait. He had a truly great heart. I will miss his advice and presence here very much. My condolences to all those that knew him...

My condolences to the friends and family of Stevie “Birdlegs” Wells. It was a privilege to have him as a contributing member. Jill, please let his family know that he was loved and respected by a very large online tax community, and that we will all miss him.

                    My condolences too

I have missed being on the board lately and when I just looked at it, I saw the message about Birdlegs passing. I'm glad I needed some help today so that I saw the message and was able to add my condolences to his family.

Sometimes I feel like a baby among all these "experienced" people. But Birdlegs never put any one down. He always treated all of us with the utmost respect and answered our questions with authority.

He will be greatly missed on this board and I know he will be missed by his family and friends. Our mortality hits us when we least expect it.
