    Minnesota Mystery

I always knew Yanks were a little strange, but this is weird. I just did my first Minnesota return and it turns out that if you stay up there for X (183) number of days, you may have to file as a MN resident even if you're not a MN resident -- they don't care if you live in Arkansas or Timbuktu.

It's sump'n about whether or not you stay long enough in a place that's got a bathtub (shoot; and I thought we were "bad off" down here).

P.S. I don't really begrudge it to them for tryin' to collect a few extra tax bucks, though -- they showed some of the houses they live in up there on TV last year and, I swear, I never saw anything like it. We've got shacks down here too, but those pore folks lived in little-bitty huts built right on top of lake-ice (lot prices must be outta sight) with just a hole in the middle of the living room for a latrine. So anyhow, I guess they have to make up for it wherever they can.

Are you talkin about those same "little" ice houses that were shown in the movie that Walter Matheu and Jack Lemmon made, and they went ice fishing? Can't remember the name of the movie!
