HP too

I have an HP laserjet 1100 that I bought about 4 or 5 years ago. It is still working great. I haven't ever had any problems with it. That is probably the best investment I have made on equipment. When I bought it, my other printer was giving me trouble and I just went to Sams, saw this one and bought it. Didn't do any research. Guess I did okay.

I was in Sams yesterday and noticed as I was walking down the aisle that they had a HP color laserjet printer for $299. Wonder how that one works.

I have been an HP Printer user for 20 years, just that seems HP doesn't make them like they use to and of course the cartridge price can get you. If I use remanufactured seems like I encounter some type of printer problems and my service tech has advised against the remanufactured.

I have had the 4050 and the 4100 for about 7 years! Not too much problem of course until the middle of tax season.

At least you have all provided some insight as to your experience with various printers.

I have a HP Mopier 320 - a real workhorse, low maintenance, but a little loud. My second printer is a Kyocera FS3830N. This is a great printer. Fast. Small footprint, quiet, very low cost per copy. I highly recommend this.

That is what I have

I have a 4050 and a 4100. I have had to have the rollers replaced, the 4050 is paper jamming, and making an awful sound and the 4100 we get an error message on that the service tech can't seem to fix. So they are about 7 years old.

Service costs about $117 for the pickup rollers, more if another set of rollers or something needs to be replaced.

So exploring possibilities.

Bullet proof.

275,000 prints on both over the years,,,,,,called for in house service twice for worn paper feed rollers.....total maintenance over 5 years....$240.00

8061X 10,000 page cartridges....`$45.00 from inkgrabber.com

Would never consider any other model printer,,,I'm really spoiled.

I should have went ahead and put out the money for the 4250tn. I bought the HP P2015dn but the cartiage count is lower on the toner. 2,000 prints per cartiage and I noticed the 4250tn has 10,000. I think it will do well though. It does have the duplex printing which I thought would be great for my tax returns. Really is not working out though as I planned. Faster than my old reliable HP Laserjet 4. I still have both of them running for reports and check printing.

We have had an HP 1320 for two tax seasons now, original was replaced twice under warranty in the first year. This year we bought an HP4250tn for network capatability and fast printing, it has worked great so far. The 1320 is our backup machine.

Be careful of...

The employees at office max tried to sell me an ink cartridge. The assured me that the starter cartridge that came with the printer will only print 20 pages. (what a dumbass!) But if you look at the owner's guide the starter cartridge prints over 2,000 pages. I'm a few months on the starter cartridge.

I purchased HP 1320 about a year and half ago. It ran $299.99 and has worked perfectly. I had researched several models and wanted this one. Waited until it went on sale to get.

The one thing that I like about the HPs is that when you replace the toner cartridge, you are also replacing the drum. Other brands, the toner cart is a little cheaper but after a few toner changes, you must buy a drum that is really expensive, which more than offsets the lower toner cost.

I sadly bought a Brother copier. When it came time to buy the drum, it cost almost as much as the machine.:-(

The same is true ofsamsung ML 1450. Economical, a workhorse, and holds a ream of paper, and has expanable memory if needed. I've had three years and still working fine.
I like it that the drum is included with the toner. Good buys on toner drum on line. I stay with OEM cartridges because I am just now on my second one.

I just ordered a Dell 1710 printer. They offer very good deals but I have no experience with Dell with printers. Have everything else from them and am very satisfied.

I used to swear on HP and love my 1200 printer. But it is starting giving me trouble and I don't have any backup printer. I don't really like any of the HP printers available now. But if you are looking for a more than basic printer you might still be good off with HP.

I ready many many product reviews before buying a printer-- almost 100% positive about Brother 7020. So I got the Brother DCP 7020 Laser/All-in-one for the home office. I love it.

I have a very small practice. Bought a Brother HP5240 last year for around $200. Has been doing very well so far.
