After seeing a post about firm registration I thought, "Oh shoot, do I need to do that??".
So I called the NJ Board and the person who answered was not totally sure of herself.
She pulled up a statute which said if you're not offering audit/attest services or putting "CPA" in the firm name then there is no need to register with the board.
She then said I should read the statute myself to be sure.
The services I offer are: Tax/Tax Planning, Bookkeeping, and Payroll.
The statute is here: https://law.justia.com/codes/new-jer...ction-45-2b-54
Can any of you help me out with this? I read it a couple of times and am thinking I don't have to register but I don't want to mess this up!
Thank you.
