As a former IT professional, what this tells us is that buggy software code was rushed into production without adequate testing, and now that the bugs are coming to light, obstacles are in place that make fixing it even harder and more time consuming.

This should make those members of our voting population who choose to believe politicians over experts happy, I suppose.

Thanks. Client had to wait 24 hours and tried and it worked. As LION suggested, updates to the system are starting to take place.

Yes, as you have told numerous times in posts about your former IT professional career, maybe you should have worked for and shown the IRS and Treasury what should have been done correctly..

Do you think it might have been more beneficial if you stayed with that career than what you are posting about after the fact of what is happening as many reply posters have posted they are already aware of and experienced?

Refer to LION's and AZUKHiker's replies for suggestions.

Other than a personal attack on me, is there any actual tax-related info in your post?

I notice you did not actually contradict my point, that the IRS software rollout had a lot of bugs and still does even now. It wouldn't help even if they had the best IT personnel in the world, because unfortunately those folks are not calling the shots.

Maybe you took the question wrong. It was a question directed about your former IT career that you mentioned in a number of posts.

The same question you asked, “is there any actual tax-related info in your reply post?”, also applies in your reply post here.

Also, your reply post to LION could be considered rough so you don’t get a pass by incorrectly using the word “personal” about you in your reply post.

You mentioned your IT experience and the question is if you would have done better if still in the same IT career. It was a simple question requiring a yes or no answer.

I don't think anyone in an IT career had any say over what ultimately got rushed into production at the IRS public web site. But yes, I would have done better if up to me, because I would not have released a known buggy application to production. But as I also know, people not in IT often over-rule the recommendations of their own IT experts.

If they applied refund to estimated tax i found you mark refund and zero for amount. Took me a couple days to try different scenarios .

Yes, refund and zero worked for me today, finally. Tried the same several times through last weekend and it did not work. I am glad they fixed it before time is running out.
