PR was POA prior to TP death. Can PR sign form 2848 so I can obtain tax returns going back 10 years?

POA is no longer valid after death.
Pls. see pub 559.
If you are filing Form 56 make sure the authority is one that fits Part 1.
Few years back I picked up a new client who was advised by some lawyer friend to file that form for her deceased brother and it got tied up for 6 months because she checked she was court appointed when she clearly was not and the will had named another sibling who had predeceased!Taxes after all are the dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organized society. - FDR
