    Getting Extensions

Has anyone every tried to get new clients from people that filed an extension? I am new in the business and was astounded by the number of people that filed extensions. Are there any suggestions to try to pick up these people.

How do you know who filed an extension? How would you solicit business from such an individual?

        Yellow Pages

My Yellow Page Ad list my services, and one of the services I list is " Late and Prior Year Returns". It has led to new clients who were under extension, or clients that have not filed for several years. I don't mind doing this work becasue it falls after April 15th.

          Late & Prior Year Returns

          John of Pa:

Thank you for this idea. I have decided to never offer RALs again. No clients because I can not in good faith try to persuade people to take these. That's what one of the major software salesmen told me: "You don't promote them." I never will so why should I have the option available?

I will begin advertising as you have: "Late and Prior Year Returns."
