Excess Roth Contribution Solution.

Can a client simply solve this problem by recharacterizing the Roth contribution to a IRA? I believe anybody can have an IRA, its just not always deductible. Correct?

I love my adding machines. At this time of year, half the time I can't remember what the number is by the time I turn around to put it in the return. I can also double check and make sure I didn't make a numerical typo since I have a tape. And unlike an online calculator, my curser doesn't move off the tax program while I'm adding. I'm just used to number +, number -. I can touch 10key much faster than use a calculator.

Now typewriter? No thanks!

Adobe Acrobat Pro Ver 8

A few clients send JPEG copies of documents which are almost unreadable, so I have to convert them to PDF files. I didn't know how to convert them a few years ago, and would have them mail the forms or fax them. Now I copy the JPEG file and then open it with Adobe Acrobat.

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro Ver 8 and I am almost to the point where I can become paperless if it was not for those larger then legal size documents. What I really like about this software is to create PDF's from the print, store in a folder and you are done. Then attach to an email if need to be sent. This especially is helpful for the our Ins Agency quoting auto & home ins., emailing vehicle ins cards etc. I have a fi-6130 scanner and now also my Canon MX430 wireless printer with flatbed scanner. 99% of the time when I am looking for a document especially from a client, I enter their last name in Win 7 search and it appears. Beats the old paper way of having to get out of my chair, open up the filing draw (if I actually filed it) and grabbing it.

I have been tempted to update my Adobe Acrobat Pro ver 8 to the latest version but as of now, my ver 8 does nearly everthing I need it to do.

I've actually got one of those K&E (better model) slip sticks somewhere in my desk. It was a virtual requirement to survive college classes.

And should I tell the tale of when I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I bought a 4-function w/memory TI calculator (red LEDs, nice "clicky" keys) for somewhere around $100? It was one of very few in the green box place at the time (yeah, multiplications were a bit awkward on an "adding machine"), and it went home with me every night.
