Has anyone else encountered this scenario:
In response to an amended return, a taxpayer receives a CP21B letter stating that a refund should be received within 2-3 weeks. Months pass, and nothing more is heard. A call to the PPL elicits the response: "It's been 'locked,' but I'll unlock it now." And in a couple of weeks, the refund arrives. When asked whether the refund would ever have been sent if I hadn't phoned, the answer is: "I think so."
This has happened to several of my clients this season.
