    Update is needed for Taxbook 1040 page 3-1

    update is needed for Taxbook 1040 page 3-1.
    Under New for 2012, it says "As of the date of printing, these provisions had not yet been
    extended for the 2012 tax year." The new law extends the educator expense deduction and the tuition and fees
    deduction for tax years 2012 and 2013.

      Further suggest you refer to TheTaxbook Updates available online (you may need your account password to access) which address the two issues you mentioned as well as many more.

      (Check for 1-5 update on 1/14/2013 and 1-7 update on 1/7/2013.)
