Daughter does not have any income never has had any income she is 32.Husband earns under $20,000 a year.
Then Choice A is to let husband file MFS and parents claim married dependent as well as her large medical expenses.
or.....
Choice B is to let couple file MFJ and likely have zero income tax liability. Parents lose dependent and some additional itemized deductions due to medical expenses.
Reading between the lines, I assume the daughter is disabled and has been for some time. Parents/couple may need to factor in disability benefits daughter is likely receiving from some outside source....
