I have researched this and believe that I am correct . My client has a fair amount of moving expenses to move her son out of town to college. She asked if this would be able to be used as a deduction. I think that it would not quality as any education credit nor can I find any other way to take a deduction. He is claimed as a dependent

Very creative approach, however...
.....NO !!
In theory, deductible moving expenses are related to the "costs" of getting/keeping employment. Going to college does not quite fit into that category.
Just curious: What would you have used as "old" and "new" work locations in order to meet the required distance test for Form 3903??
