Employer has HDHP covering only medical and perscription drugs (no dental or visison). Employer makes a contribution to employee's HSA and employee also makes a pre-tax contribution from his pay check to his HSA.
The dental and vision expenses would not be qualifying expenses for meeting the plan's deductible and out-of-pocket coinsurance maximums, but can the employee still reimburse himself for dental and vision expenses out of his HSA even though such expenses are not covered in the HDHP ?
The employer is NOT offering a limited cafeteria plan for dental and vision.
