      Test

The test launch is still months away, so don't worry about it yet. Testing for preparers currently "unenrolled" per Circular 230. Test will cover Form 1040 with a separate test for small businesses: C, E, and F.

The PTIN you need before filing any returns, so best to get it by 31 December 2010. That application will definitely be online and will launch this month on a date the IRS has not yet announced any more specifically. You will probably pay via VISA or MasterCard.

      Stay tuned!
