Can someone please explain to me what an asphalt roof with appropriate cooling granules is? I am not familiar with this. I know a metel roof qualifies for the credit but am assuming a regular shingle roof does not? This is where I don't understand what the asphalt roof is. Thanks for any help.

Yesterday I went to my energy credit webb site to find what the rules are regarding a roof.
My interpretation of it was that it is too complicated to explain and that the taxpayer should
obtain a Certification from the installer of the roof if it qualifies for the energy tax credit. -
