Anyone brave enough to purchase Win 7?

I think half the world is at the mercy of Micosoft, that being said, if you loaded the same operating system twice I am 95% sure you will not be able to load it again, not on a new system and not on your old system.

Information I received is that you cannot upgrade from XP direct to Win 7. The harddrive must be backed up and then reformatted before installing Win 7. Then the backup programs reinstalled. Since I have not had any problems with XP I'll stick with it as long as possible. I usually skip every other Microsoft upgrade, but skipping Vista and Win 7 may be my choice. Haven't heard any compelling reason to upgrade, XP is plenty fast enough for office use.

You are correct. To upgrade from XP, you must either go through Vista first or it will be a clean install.

That being said, I had a feeling that this would create a program niche for companies who want to overcome this issue. Has anyone tried this product?
