Been waiting on IRS to reply on forms it requested back in early June 2009. Those forms were mailed late June. On Sept 8th the IRS agent wanted the number off my clients June letter to locate the author of the letter. The IRS agent then said "I emailed this author to call you" and the IRS agent calls this a "referral". I called the IRS again today and the author/referral is suppose to call me within 30 days from Sept 8th. What if this author/referral calls me and receives my voice message, will the author/referral leave a message with a direct phone number to call him or her back?
The June letter requested Form 1045 Sch A & Sch B which were mailed in late June. In case the forms are lost, will the IRS accept these forms faxed?
