    First time home buyer credit

Does a mobile on a rented lot qualify for the first time home buyer credit? For purchase purposes a mobile on a rented lot does not disqualify for first time financing, so I am thinking that a mobile on a rented lot is not considered a home for purposes of thee credit.

      More Info

Here is a link of frequently asked questions http://www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com/faq.php and http://www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com/2009/faq.php one pre 2009 and the other 2009.

I would say mobile home would qualify and depending on your state regulations, the mobile home should be on the personal property tax rolls rather than any DMV licensing tax rolls.

I don't the the state regs matter. Even a houseboat would qualify. I may be wrong, but I think the key is 'principal residence'.
