I have never efiled a MFS return and I cannot get through to Proseries support. I am in a community property state and must split the income.
Does anyone know if I will create problems if I enter information on "dummy" W-2's to get the income to the correct amount?
For example Husbands W-2 has $25,000 but he will be allocating $10,00 to Wife. Wife has allocated $11,000 to husband.
I can enter the wife's information on the community property efile worksheet, but the husbands flows through from the W-2 worksheet. So, can I enter $15,000 on the W-2 worksheet ($25,000 actual less $10,000 allocated to wife) to force the correct amount to the community property efile worksheet?
Or is there another way to process this? If all else fails I can do a paper return, but I thought he might receive his refund quicker to efile.
