I have an adult son (Age 24) living with his father with $ 6,500 total income for the year 2016. Father claims HOH Status (cannot and does not take him as dependent) . Is the adult son eligible for Earned Income Credit?

Was reading the qualifying child requirements for EIC for a client who made $10,000 wages and $4,000 eic (for tax year 2013) in 2014.
Her daughter is a college student and made $13,000 in wages. Daughter lived with client the whole year.
My first impulse was that client cannot claim daughter for EIC, but after reading...

EIC, CTC, Dependent Exemption for Grandparents Caring for Granddaughter
I have a couple who are supporting their grandchild who has lived with them F/T for more than 3 years. The mother of the child is deceased and the father lives more than 3 hours away providing no financial support. The grandparents receive SSI and a W2. The grandchild receives SSI as well. They already care for a disabled adult son - who should qualify...

Engagement and EIC
What are your thoughts on adding a statement in the yearly engagement letters that your clients sign, on the Earned Income Credit? Something to the effect of, if the client has been found negligent of information pertaining to the eligibility of the credit, an additional $500 will be billed to the client.
