    Tax Deductible?

I am applying to professional school and racking up quite a lot of expenses, anyone know is any of these are tax deductible? And if so, as what?

    - Application fees to required application service and/or supplementary fees to dental schools.

    - Material costs involved in preparing for interviews like a suit and dry cleaning

    - Travel expenses for interviews (flight, rental car, hotel, etc ...)

    Thanks,

      Dental school

People enter dental school to become dentists, a rather lucrative profession, all things
considered, and therefore it's a new profession. As such, expenses are not deductible
to enter a new trade or profession.

The tuition may be eligible for a tax credit or a deduction from income. None of the other expenses are deductible unless they are includedd as part of the tuition.

Not at the moment, aside from school loans. I was employed Jan - June this tax year though.

              Professional

See a tax professional. This board facilitates conversations between tax professionals re the situations we encounter. You need to sit down with a tax professional to help you with record-keeping tailored to your particular set of circumstances and the states in which you will reside, work, and maybe even attend school.

I would do the same but I have a bad tooth I can't get an appointment for.

given sufficient income to engender a tax liability.

I see a real dentist in the makng.

Not in business yet and already worried about the tax bite.
