A client loses his home due to foreclosure. Three months after the foreclosure sale the client through statutory redemption reclaims the home by paying the foreclosure sale price, plus additional amounts such as fees and costs incurred by the foreclosure sale purchaser. Would the costs include costs for rennovating the home incurred by the foreclosure sale purchaser.

I think you would be better off asking this question of people in the state where this occurred who know real estate law because they are Real Estate Professionals or Real Estate Attorneys. At least I don't perceive a tax question in your original post.
