    Yeah, everybody needs 'em, but days later I found some comparable to my $50 units on sale in a store for $30 (regular price-$37.95). Guess you could say I paid for "installation," but that was done with a hammer and four finishing nails.

    Curiosity's got the best of me, Dave. What in the world is "Amsoil"? It sounds like a cross between Amway products and the garden.

      Amsoil is a line of synthetic oil and lubricants sold through distributors much like Conklin. Less vertical than Amway but still a MLM. Very good products, still being sold but not as widely as in the 80's and 90's. After years of fighting the synthetics the big guys released their own versions at a much lower price. Just like what happened to the Slick 50 distributors when they began selling through auto parts stores and oil change shops. Bigger volume, lower price.

      I still have a client selling Amsoil. He does a few thousand $ per year usually small profit or small loss. But hey, he gets the products at a discount for his own vehicle, right?
