Hi,
I have a customer who purchased a Toyota Prius in 2005 that I am preparing a return for. He included a copy of some information from www.fueleconomy.gov which states that his car would be eligible for a $2,000 deduction. It states to write in "$2,000 Clean Fuel" on Line 35 of Federal 1040.
If I have to write it in, then I'd have to paper file, and cannot e-file. Is there another way? I use ProSeries software and so far haven't found a place I can take this $2000 deduction.
Any advice?
