I saw in the post about reasonable compensation that you attended the GAEA seminar. I went to their seminar a couple of years ago at Jekyll Island. I LOVED that place. It was so peaceful. I really found their seminars very interesting and helpful.

I wanted to go this year, especially when I saw that Beanna Whitlock was a speaker. She is always very informative and interesting. Just trying to conserve money this year.

Hope you enjoyed the seminar. I think next time it is at Jekyll Island I'll talk my husband into going with me and attend.

I saw an advertisement this seminar

for this past June 2nd through the 4th. I don't live in GA, and I'm not a member of the GAEA but I'd like to attend this seminar just to see the Jekyll Island Hotel. After all, this is where the beast, ur I mean the Federal Reserve was created, as well and the early beginnings of the Internal Revenue Service.

Did you stay in the hotel? Were there any photos of the 1910 meeting with Aldrich, Rockefeller, Morgan, etc?

I'm kind of a money history nerd.

      Jekyll island and GAEA

      meeting this June 1 - 3rd.

You should definitely plan on it next year, Linda. We had quite a few EA's from FL, probably about 6 I would guess without looking at the roster. First morning when Beanna posed
      this question, here's what happened.
She said all you EA's with numbers less than 50,000 raise your hand. So a goodly number raised their hands. She then said "keep them up, now those with numbers less than 40,000?
hands went down, but still maybe 20 or so still raised. 30,000? Maybe 10 of us still
raised. 20,000? Ah now, there were two of us. Just me and this other fellow over on
other side of room. Well, he beat me out, an EA from over near Bradenton I think, whose
number was in the .... ready? .... 600 series. Seems he's been an EA since 1961 I
      think he told me.
But at least I had the lowest number in the GAEA.
Plus since Beanna needed a date for the banquest, there i was.

Now then, Dave. Take a look when you get a chance at the Jekyll island club hotel website. There are four conference rooms, richly paneled in the old part of the hotel,
just down the hall from the Grand Dining Room, one of which is the Federal Reserve
room and you know the history already. However I'm sure there are the pictures you
      refer to in the museum.

It's a beautiful place, dripping with century old live oaks with Spanish moss, oleanders
(I brought back a clipping for rooting and planting). The island is officially a Georgia
state park, all of it, however there is some commercial development of course. Lots of
shops on hotel grounds, including one of me favorites: an ice cream shop.

      well,enough for now.

        Next year

I wonder where it will be next year. Last year it was St. Simon's Island, I think. If that is their pattern I will have to wait 2 years to go back to Jekyll Island. But I definitely will go back.

I hope I can go next year. Either Jekyll or St. Simons. I haven't been there since I was a kid!

            There's July 12th, right?

I have no doubt we'll see you join us in NAEA and the GAEA at least by Sep or Oct.
Really thought, both St Simons and Jekyll are beautiful. Linda and Danny, if you've
been to St Simons you remember the beautiful white wood church, Episcopal if memory serves (and sometimes it don't). On Jekyll, standing on the secluded
beach on north tip of Jekyll, you look across northwards and see the famous
            lighthouse on St Simons.

(First time I was at St Simons, it was high school, at the Methodist church retreat,
and I was in LOVE. But that's another story.

I haven't been to St Simon's Island. I just fell in love with Jekyll Island. We will see how next year goes. Maybe I'll have to try it too.
