what will I have in 2 or 3 years if I need it again? Is there a final CD with all the updates or can I always download it when I change computers.

Microsoft XP
One of my customers here has an I T guy who just told me Microsoft is jerking XP off the market on June 18th. Don't know whether this is true or not. According to him, Microsoft won't be able to sell VISTA as long as customers continue to buy XP, and their new VISTA product is not moving.
The result of this, in my opinion, is that new computer sales will nosedive big time. There is a reason people aren't buying VISTA, and using this "New Coke" marketing scheme will force consumers just to hang on to their existing computers longer. Who wants to spend 2 days loading up their old software onto a new platform which won't even accept 50% of it.

Updates for each tax year edition of the WebCD will remain available on the website for at least 3 years. More likely it will be at least 5 years.
If you want to make your own archive of all the updates, you could do as KBTS suggests. Another way is to copy the WebCD folder installed on your hard drive to a backup folder, flash drive, writable CD-ROM, or writable DVD. All of the data files from the original CD and update files are installed in the default location of
C:\Program Files\TheTaxBook 2007 WebCD
If you installed the WebCD in the default location, that is where everything went. Simply copy and paste that folder to the same location on your new computer. Then create a shortcut to the home page pdf file, which is located at
