I have in the past ordered 1040 and the small business book, is the deluxe edition both books in one? Do some of you have a preference? I'm just want to be prepared. Thanks for input. PS I have also ordered the CD but I really haven't used it much.

I love the Deluxe with both books in one. I know it's big, but there's so much overlap with my clients, schedule Cs and partnerships plus the individual partners and retirement plans from the perspective of the individual &/or of the business owner.... (I don't like to feel foolish in front of a client by taking book off my shelf and then having to get the OTHER book instead!) You don't get as much in the Deluxe as in the two separate, though. I solved that problem this year by getting the CD finally. I didn't use it a lot, but when I did it was a real time saver. You look something up but need more, so it takes you right to the IRS or the Code or.... And, the CD has the full contents of the two separate books.

One way not to look foolish in front of the client if you pull the wrong book off the shelf:
Hand the first book to the client and say "You look in that book while I look in this other one", as you pull the right book off the shelf. It puts the "look foolish" monkey on the client's back and hopefully you'll have the answer before they even figure out where the index is located."The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectful" - John Kenneth Galbraith
