    Husband owes back taxes

    Wife's account does not show any liability. Husband's back taxes are from a partnership in 1999.
    I need confirmation that I by filing their taxes as MFS, she will get her refund and stimulus check.

    but I think you are right unless they filed jointly in 99.

      Filing as an injured spouse with a MFJ tax return would keep taxes lower, in most cases, without interfering with the other spouse's refund.

      Since the wife's record is clear it must of been a liability at the partnership level, not at a 1040 level, like payroll taxes.
