    Quickbooks payroll

It is now going up to $239 for the basic service.

    Enhanced payroll is $249

    Didn't I pay $99 last year?

    Avoid This

Roberts, the payroll feature with QB has the annual "hook" in it, meaning you have to purchase downloads of revised tax tables every year. In many cases, this is the only thing that changes from year-to-year, although Intuit would have you believe otherwise.

I've got the 2003 version of QB, along with four clients who have the 2003 version as well.
Two of them have payroll, and enter their payroll on an excel spreadsheet I designed for their use. Each year, with my help, they update the spreadsheet with the "percentage method" parameters from Circular E. Neither of these has more than 10 employees.

Result is none of these has had to update since 2003. Neither have I. I've added a few large clients since then, but so far I've been able to talk them out of QB. Someday it is inevitable that I will have to update, but I've been lucky so far.

Intuit would put me in concrete shoes if they knew.
