Anybody use PC Anywhere to connect to Quickbooks?

    Looking for a recommendation.

I used GoToMyPc succesfully about two years ago. I say "succesfully" although at the time the connection/display wasn't good enough to do bank recs so I quit using it.

Now I just want to connect to be able to view reports, ask questions and do a few general journal entries.

    TIA!

Are you a ProAdvisor? A free one year subscription to Remote Access comes with being a ProAdvisor. I haven't used it yet but plan to as soon as I can check it out further.

I have convinced all of my clients who do their own books to start using it. You can set up 3 different log ons, 2 for internal people and 1 for the accountant. Don't have to worry about back ups, don't have to worry about updates and it's always available from an internet connected computer in real time.

I have been using the FREE version of LogMeIn.com now for a little over a year and it works wonderfully. The best part is that, did I mention, IT'S FREE!!!! The free virsion has a couple of minor limitations but they have never been any problem whatsoever for me.

I use LogMeIn also. I had to much trouble trying to connect from QuickBooks to a customers books. It seemed very slow. Also I sometimes need access to the whole computer. I usually do a little computer trouble shooting if needed. I used GoToMyPC until I found out about LogMeIn.

PCAnywhere... ahhh! That program was the biggest headache. When folks started using wireless routers with built in firewalls it was nearly impossible to get around them. Also add the firewall from their virus protection, windows, and even built in firewalls in cable modems... Don't mess with PCAnywhere unless you know how to set ports up in a router. Go for LogMeIn

LogMeInc.com is working great. I set it up between my home and work computers. I especially like that the target only needs to be connected to the internet and doesn't have to be connected to the web site.

I haven't had a chance to connect to the real target client computer yet.

Apparently I am in a Free Trial period .......... not sure if I'll be able to keep a free version going after that but am willing to pay for it any way.

            Thanks for the tips!

              gotomeeting.com and Skydrive

I've been using gotomeeting.com and love it. $50 per month. I use it a lot.

I use free Windows Live "Skydrive" to transfer portable QB files that are too big to email from the client's computer to mine, and that's worked well too.

                Skydrive

                BHoffman,

How do you set up Skydrive? I have the account through Hotmail, and then doesn't the client also have to set it up. I think the cost is $19.95 per year per account?

Can you explain more on this procedure.

I am using LogMeIn, which is free, but for LogMein Pro to transfer files and print, they want approximately $54.95 per client sign up.

If you don't want to post you can private email me.

                Thanks,

                Sandy

Josh QB online works wonderful for most clients but, it does have its limits. I have used it for many clients as well and it turly is the way of the future. But it is not for everyone.

                    WebEx

I use the QB WebEx access to access clients, and it seems to work well (actually, better with Vista on my machine than it ever did with XP Pro) System time is a little sluggish, but reliability and cost ($3.95/connection) seem reasonable.
