Stimulus Payment Status - Direct from IRS

IRS now has a lookup for the stimulus payment.
It's simple & easy to use.
I'm emailing it to any clients who ask about the status of their payment.

I assume it will also be the place where the amount paid can be obtained when filing 2008 returns.

Doesn't seem to pull up information for a lot of returns at present time. Per the schedule I should get a stimulus payment by 5/9, but it says it can't find any information when I put in my own info. I can see a lot of people checking the status, getting the same message I got, and then calling their tax pro asking why the heck it doesn't show the info.

Though I see it as much more useful when doing 2008 returns and you need to see if they got their refund in 2008.

Thanks John,

I have used the site 2 times today, and both times worked great. Nice tool to let clients know status of their rebate, plus provides us with a record as well.
