Thank You TMI & Message Board Members!

All I can say is WOW! This is my 2nd yr to use TheTaxBook which I absolutely love. Have used US Master Tax Guide by CCH for many years and still get it, but I pick it up less and less.

And the really great part of TheTaxBook is stumbling upon the message board this year. What a wonderful service! I have read many of your posts and have gleaned info, great tax insight, software recommendations, and business practice ideas from many of you. Plus, you eased the lonliness of a tax preparer who has nobody to talk taxes with (except my mother).

Thank you to all of you at TMI for producing theTheTaxBook and making this message board a part of your website. Thank you to all of you message board posters. I fell in love with the book, and now am quite fond of many of you tax professionals.

I see you have only posted twice since finding this board. You should post more often, even if you think your question is not important. It is to you and no one on this board will think otherwise.

As you can see from viewing all the posts, no one will belittle or try to embarrass you in any way. Each and every one of the familiar "workhorses" that answer many of our questions have all been where you and I have been and they treat each of us with respect. Plus, we have a little fun once in awhile!

    Join in more often.

    Dennis

Would also like to thank everyone once again. This year seemed extremely stressful and I'm relieved to see it pass. I appreciate each and everyone of you for the help and reassurance that I got REAL people.

        Thank you

A big thank you to everyone at TMI and to all of my colleagues in my virtual tax office who help me around our virtual water cooler. I'm glad you take your time to help me and to post so we can all learn. If you visit CT, I'll buy you a drink.

Thank you for the encouragement. Yes, I will join in more often. And yes, I have seen that it appears there is professionalism with much respect and courtesy on this board. Plus the "little fun once in a while" that you spoke of. I'm so glad I found you all!

              Yeah

'Fraid so, CT is funny about shipping booze in or out. Although, my sister gave us a wine of the month club for Christmas, and it comes by UPS, and I don't think it's sourced in CT. Someone over 21 has to be home to sign for it, though. Feel kinda funny being carded by the UPS man! We should all pick a date and time, GMT maybe, and drink a toast while emailing cheers to all our virtual colleagues.

                Virtual drinking

I'll try, but it's going to be hard with two bottles or glasses in each hand and keyboard my well-wishes to everyone at the same time!

                  Set your glass down

You can set your glass down to type. And, we'll know when we've had too much by our typos. At least in my case, I won't have to drive home from my home office. I'm getting way too relaxed and need to tackle all the returns I put on extension.

                    Dennis,

from a few msg boards ago, I thought you liked Spam?? So now instead of a fork, you're holding glasses?? Come on -- make up your mind: food or drink?

                      Food or drink

I come from a long line of Norwegians (probably Vikings) and they do both, in excess.

So Larry, are you going to join in or what?

what time does the party start?

You guys are a hoot! Vikings . . . are they the ones that fight over that big turkey leg and have the metal mugs full of hootch? I just need to know what to bring to this virtual party. If I gotta cook turkey, I need a bit of advance planning. Besides, my office is upstairs in a loft, and I will have to bring up the cooler. Or I might trip going up and down the spiral stairs to the kitchen.

Yeah, I can see some of you are getting way to relaxed. Nice, isn't it?

                            Sandi,

Probably not Vikings. I meant to say Norwegian hotheads. And yes, still working hard, but can find time to have a joke or two for the tension relief.

Other members are going to get irritated with this on-board banter, so I propose we set this "virtual party" up via email from now on and then copy each other at some point and have our toast off-board. I'll leave the details to others. Lion?

                              Not an organizer

Well, I'm not the best organizer. I'm not the best drinker, either. But, would love to drink a virtual toast with all my virtual colleagues on some set date and time. My AIM name is TaxLadyCT, if you want to use IM as the method. Or, one of my clients uses an absolutely free conference call provider; I'll check on the toll-free number. Has anyone taken advantage of a "private" chat room on AOL or another provider where it's by invitation only?
