nontax: The calm before the storm?

I expected the phone to ring off the hook today and there is dead silence. Scary.

Same here. People are staying away in droves.

I had a call at 7:30 this morning from a client who needed to stop by and pick up their return. Bad thing is that I was still in bed resting up from working all day yesterday. A little after 8:00 another client called and had lost the copies of their return which included the state payment voucher and their local returns. I had just about finished printing everything out for them again when they called and said they found it. Since then, nothing - maybe I'll just let the answering machine pick up any more calls.

        If you are bored

Give me your number and I'll forward a line to you.

          i've been swamped

The office has been busy this morning! I cannot believe the number of regular clients that have been running later than normal this year. Still have clients calling - "you haven't forgotten about me have you? I will be there soon." There has also been a plethora of new clients here in the last few days.

Last two years have been very orderly but not this year!

I'll be glad when it's over
          Deb

ps only reason i have time to write this now is because i am eating my lunch (a quick apple!)

I had my last client messenger me her information that arrived at 5:11 p.m. today. At 3 p.m. I filed her extension. Tomorrow's soon enough to look at her info and see if she owes.

              Crazy here

Other years have been like you said...dead on the 15th. But not this year. I am just finishing up and it is 10 PM. Didn't have lunch or supper.

I have had 13 appointments in the last 2 days and 22 last week. Some were coming to pick up returns but still it is stopping to talk and discuss return.

Don't know which way I like it best. Busy means more money, but slower means calmness. We can wish for the middle.
