New Jersey tax & form 1040NR

    Hello all.

My wife and I, Westchester (NY) residents, filed a joint return for this past year. My income came from the state of New Jersey and my wife's was earned in New York. I was therefore "forced" to file a NJ 1040NR form. The problem is that line 14 (Wages, salaries, tips and other compensation has two columns: COL A for Amount of Gross Income everywhere and COL B for Amount from New Jersey Sources.

Do I have to include my wife's salary in column A even though she earned NO income in the state of New Jersey.

      Nj 1040 Nr

Yes - You need to complete column A from the Federal information.
Column B reports only the amounts from NJ sources and sets up the formula calculation on P. 2.
