    Sunset on 15% Capital Gains

As it stands now, unless legislation extends it, when will the 15% ceiling on qualified dividends and capital gains expire?

I guess the same question goes for the Sales tax deduction on Schedule A, but I believe that to be 12/31/07 unless extended.

    2010

I think that 2010 is the sunset date for a lot of those breaks including the lower capital gains rate.

The 15% maximum rate will expire 12/31/2010. The 0% rate for taxpayers in the 10% and 15% bracket applies from 2008 - 2010 as well. I believe the sales tax deduction did expire 12/31/07.

I believe we also get 5-year capital gains rates back as well after 12/31/10. Remember the 8%/18% on property held >5 years?
