    Step up

    Taxpayer dies in community prop state. Together they had small farm and several rental properties.

    Spouse recieves stepped up on all properties(jointly Owned)
    correct??

      This question came up on several occasions in the past. While I'm not in a community state the answer in the past was YES, all joint assets get a step up to DOD basis.
