    Reporting Dependent (Parent) SS benefits?

    Parent lives with Daughter and is a dependent on Daughters tax return. Parent receives SS benefits. Does the parents SS benefits need to be reported on the Daughters tax return?

    If so where?

      Whose SS#?

      Report it on the return with the same SS# as on the Form 1099-SSA.

          Do not report parents SS income, unless of course she is required to file her own eturn because of other income.
