    Almost finished?

This is the craziest year I have had yet since I started my own business. I took inventory of where I stood today. Remember I am a one person office...no help...just me.
I have 11 returns on my desk I am working on in various stages. I have 12 appointments scheduled and 2 that are coming but not sure when. At least a half a dozen I haven't heard from yet. But I am sure that I will.

I called one lady this morning and she said I was going to call you today. I know I am late. I'll get to it next week. I reminded her that next Tuesday was the 15th. She seemed shocked. She'll be in Thursday.

One blessing is that the people coming in are people that I can do while they are in my office....no drop offs in the bunch.

Guess that is why I haven't been on the board much lately unless I had a question I needed help with. So now it is back to work for a little while longer.

Hope you have all had a great season.

    About there

I have about 25 returns left to do. I am a one person office also. Its been crazy this year. I had over half my customers come in at the end of March. I don't know why they waited so long to come in. Have a few dragging their feet about getting information to me. I try to work during the day but I am constantly interrupted by phone calls of people wanting to pickup returns. I am calling to get information and new people calling wanting their return done. Yesterday (Tuesday) it was bad. I did not get any work done. That is why i stayed up until 5am! I thought I had a phone growing on my ear

I am thankful I have the business but I sure will be glad when it is over... so will everyone around me it seems.

      Suggested Solutions

      1) Email whenever possible

      2) No pickups - they're the biggest time waster of all.
That's why we have the post office and delivery services.
Anything you can do to keep your clients out of your office will put money in your pocket.

      3) Extensions (for your personal sanity)
Anybody calling at this late date (especially a new client) should expect an extension. Most of them will be grateful you suggested it.

        Another all night person

I'm relieved to hear that someone else stays up late working on returns. I did that a couple of weeks ago. My family wanted to go to Cypress Gardens for the day while my granddaughter was out for spring break. So a few days before I just worked until about 5 AM.
I just work till I can't think anymore and then I go to bed for a few hours. I might have to do that again. Although we do have a weekend coming up.
