    Rental Property

    Would a foundation repair be depreciated or expensed. Cost was 3200.00. I am brain dead at this point.

      I would expense it as any other repair.

          about this subject just a couple of days ago. It's back on page three under the thread titled "Depreciation Question" (4-3-08) by NotEasy. He was asking the same sort of question you are and our resident expert Burton Koss gave a great answer to it: "Fully deductible in the current year?" An excellent examination/analysis.

          P.S. Never mind page three -- I'm so taken with it that I'm bringing it back to the top of this page.
