It does not make sense to me that a man that has a total tax bill of 97,627 would get hit with another 1k of AMT.

Well at some level of income 90k is probably too low really. If I had someone who made $1 million I wouldn't feel bad if they owed more than 90k.
It must be nice to have an income high enough that you owe $90k.Comment
