Can anyone tell me if SW Missouri was declared a Federal Disaster Area after the January '07 ice storm? I have searched and searched, and can only find where Gov. Bliunt asked for it to be declared, not if it ever was.
One small farmer had to sell his whole herd of 40, due to almost all his fencing being downed, barns ruined from falling limbs, and soaring feed prices ( square bale went from $2-3 to $5 or more) I want to at least defer some of his income to next year, it being a forced sale due to weather-related conditions. I don't quite see how an involuntary conversion would help, but I'm still reading on that. He raised all the cattle, and was still building up his herd, normally selling 8-10 feeders a year.
Any other ideas on what to do? Thanks Cathy
