    Passive Foreign Investment Company (PFIC)

    I put a question out on 3/15 which is on page 6 with no takers!
    Has anyone dealt with consequences of failing to make an election
    to treat an investment as a PFIC. I think the distribution gets treated
    as nonqualified dividends subject to ordinary tax rates rather than LTCG. Any thoughts???
