    EA CPE Requirements?

What are the Continuing Professional Education requirements for EA renewal during the period April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011? As I understand, the TOTAL credits required for the 3-year period is 72; 6 of which must be on ethics. A minimum of 16, 2 of which must be on ethics, must be achieved each year.

Can someone confirm (or correct) my understanding? Thanks.

Yes that is correct, but 16 x 3 means some very heavy pre or post years to catch up with.

Bob is correct about the heavier load. To me it is much easier to meet the 24 hrs per year load. Also, if you are a member of NAEA, instead of 24, they require 30 hr per year.

Only in government or politics is a "cut in spending" really an increase. It's just not as much of an increase as they wanted it to be, therefore a "cut".

        CFP and EA

I was curious if anyone who is a CFP knows if the CE requirements for both are compatable. I know when I go for CFP credits, they list CPA also, but not EA. I understand that EA CE's are based on federal taxation, but certain CFP CE classes deal with this. Does the CE class have to specifically be for EA's?. Between the 24 CFP Ce's and 30 EA Ce's, I'm gonna be busy
