    another rebate question

I have two clients that are not required to file for 2007 (one retired has not filed in years. one schedule C did not operate in 07 only had dividend income of 2,000. they live together. nephew takes care of aunt.). Even though they are not required to file, they will have to if they want a rebate. Just want to make sure I understand that correctly.

    Thanks

Yes, a return must be filed for the rebate. As to the specifics, check out the numerous sites on this board. The folks here have been on top of the Stimulus since it first was uttered as a possibility. Really gooood stuff all over this board.

The income used is the earned income (wages self employed) Retirement Social Security Benefits (NOT Supplemental Security Insurance, SSI, benefits), and Veterans benefits. Also the total qualifying income mustbe over $3,000.00. See the workseet and other materials under the Updates tab at the top of the screen.
