    Canadian Pension Income

Client has a NR4 from Canada - Taxable Canada Pension Plan Benefits - I am unsure where to report this on his tax return. He is a full-time resident of the US and a US citizen.
    Thanks.

If it is a NR4-OAS, treat it as social security. If it is NR4-CPP, treat it as a pension (1099R).

      Nr4 Cpp

It is an NR4 with Code 46 for Taxable Canada Pension Plan Benefits which looks like it would be an NR4-CPP.
      Thanks for your help.
My guess is that disqualifies the return from being efiled -

You can put it (with converted amount) on line 21 and identify it as such. I do this all the time with UK pensions and UK social security (which doesn't qualify under a treaty the same as Canadian). I have a client that has 3 UK pensions and both receive UK social security and have UK tax withheld from the pensions along with US W-2's, etc. Have e-filed them about 4 years this way without a problem.
