    signing a 1040 for a deceased

I have prepared the 1040 for my Mother who passed away in Sept, 2007. The word
Deceased and the date and name is on the top of page #1
There is no surviving spouse. My brother and I are co-executors.
He did not assist in preparing this document. (or anything else for that matter........)
Do I sign my name and write executor in the box that my Mother would have put her signature?
"Sign Here" at the bottom of page 2?
Must my brother sign as well.?

    Many thanks Linda

    Dear Linda

Either co-executor may sign the return. See the instructions for F-1040, p.77. If there is a refund, also see p.77.
