AZ Dependent of another - Please help

Filed kid's tax return, 1040EZ, claimed as a dependent on parents tax return.

I subtracted her personal exemption for the AZ140. As I understand it this is proper when TP is claimed as a dependent on parents return.

AZ Dept. of Rev. changed her tax return to include the personal exemption and issued her a small refund.

Did I make a mistake by subtracting the personal exemption, or should I offer the AZDOR an amended return with an explanation?

Thanks very much for any advice.

    AZ is correct.

My software make no adjustments in an AZ return using your scenario.

      Thank you and

I don't always trust software. I use Drake. It's good, but not perfect. I have a feeling the personal exemption isn't allowed when the filer is claimed as a dependent, but stranger things have happened.

I put a call into the AZDOR practitioner line and left a message. Sure would like to know.

Naturally, this is a freebie return and will prove that no good deed goes unpunished

        AZ is OK

AZ tax practitioner line called back and said the personal exemption is allowed on both the kid's and the parents' return.

        Thanks for your help!
