Another Rebate Question

Elderly call all the time and are afraid to put their names in the system for the rebate. I guess they think their SS would be taken away or disability since they have not filled taxes out in 100 years.

They ask would they get anything if they don't?

They must file if they have no tax liability. Their SSN is already "in the system" so I'm not sure what they are worried about. If they feel that strongly about it, they can just ignore filing and forego the money.

That is what I told them but so many are old and set in concrete until I said no file no $$$$$$. The government knows where they are and all about them anyway.
