    Repay Unemployment Taxes

    Client drew unemployment and was requested to pay some back for the year 2006. She will be paying it in 2008. I am assuming that the return has to be amended but for which year?

      See TTB pg. 3-21. If repayment is under $3,000 it goes on Sch.A as miscellaneous item. deduction subject to the 2% limitation. If over, you have a choice on how do it.
